1. You’re a good writer
On a daily basis, someone working in social media will be required to write blog posts, produce marketing content for social media and also interact with customers online. That’s why good writing skills are so important and if writing is also a hobby of yours, this could be your dream job! Without this skill, businesses would be presented unprofessionally on social media.
2. You’re creative
Creativity is a huge part of working in social media. You will have to come up with new ideas and fresh content everyday to keep your customers interested. A lot of businesses use social media for advertising so a creative person might be able to help businesses stand out from the crowd.
3. You’re patient
It will take time for you to figure out what works and what doesn’t and for people to notice the content you put out there. It will also take time for you to build a good reputation with your customers, but someone with enough patience will not find this a problem at all.
4. You’re empathetic
An important part of marketing on social media is to be empathetic with customers. You need to be able to understand the problem they have so you can help to fix it. A certain amount of empathy will go a long way when interacting with customers online.
5. You have good analytical skills
You will need to be able to analyse the impact of your posts that you publish online. This is so you can see how many people your posts reach, what type of content receives the most engagement, when you’re customers are active, what posts are being ignored etc. All of this data will help you to improve the content you produce.
